Cupping & Restore (A Bodywork & Yoga Event)

In this special class, students will explore the depth of restorative yoga while experiencing the benefits of cupping therapy. Led by Restore Everyone Yoga Teachers Veronica Dye (LMT) & Cristina Rose Ortiz (Yoga Therapy).

The intention is to release muscle tension through supported restorative postures combined with cupping therapy, and practice cultivating deeper self awareness through the duality of stillness and sensation. The class will end with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation, to allow the body space to integrate the bodywork and yoga asana for a blissfully relaxing evening.

Cupping is a bodywork modality that uses plastic/silicone/glass cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin to disperse and break up muscle tension by increasing blood circulation to the area. Many people comment that cupping is similar to a “deep tissue massage” and find the experience soothing and painless.

Notes: We will be using silicone cups for this event. Please reach out if you are allergic or sensitive to silicone. For safety purposes, all cupping will be done on the back, and there will be only one cup per posture that will be left stagnant for 1 to 4 minutes.

What to wear: Because the cups are placed directly on the skin, most people will find it easiest to wear loose fitting clothes in order to make sure that the shoulders/ lower back are accessible for cupping. A loose tank, loose t-shirt, sports bra, comfortable shorts, or low-rise leggings are recommended--but please feel free to wear whatever is most comfortable for you to participate!

This event is being capped at 14 students, book ASAP!
